INTERNKITE
Privacy Policy
Last updated 20 September 2026
This policy describes what InternKite collects, who can see it, and what you can do about it. It describes the service as it actually works today — where something is not built, it says so rather than reserving the right.
Who is responsible
InternKite is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. For anything in this policy, including a request to see, correct or delete your data, contact our Grievance Officer at [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME AND EMAIL]. We will respond within [RESPONSE PERIOD].
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive from Google your name, your email address and your Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
If you are a student, you give us: your college, your degree, your course, your current year of study, your expected graduation year, your CGPA, your Class 10 and Class 12 marks, your skills, a description of yourself and your internship interests, and a description of your projects and experience.
If you are a recruiter, you give us: your name and the company you recruit for.
As you use the service we also store the interview proposals and internship offers sent to you or by you, including their contents; whether you accepted or declined; the reason you gave for declining; and which companies you are hidden from.
We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or third-party cookies. The only cookies we set are the one that keeps you signed in and two short-lived ones used during sign-in itself.
Who can see a student profile
A student profile is never public and is not indexed by search engines. It can be seen only by a signed-in recruiter whose company we have approved, and only while you have not hidden yourself from that company. Nobody who is not signed in sees any real student.
A recruiter who can see your profile sees everything in it, including your CGPA and your Class 10 and Class 12 marks.
When you decline a proposal, the reason you choose is shown to the company that sent it, in a standard sentence. It is not shown to any other company. If you decline because you have accepted another opportunity, or because you are no longer looking, you become hidden from every company until you say otherwise.
Students never see other students. A recruiter never sees another company’s proposals.
Why we hold it
To run the service you asked us to run: to show your profile to recruiters you have not hidden, to deliver proposals and your answers to them, to keep you signed in, and to enforce the limits on how many proposals a recruiter may send.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train machine-learning models.
Who else processes it
- Google — only for signing you in. Google tells us who you are; we tell Google nothing about what you do here.
- Cloudflare — hosts the service and stores the database.
That is the complete list.
How long we keep it
Your profile and your proposal history are kept while your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days, and signing out deletes that session immediately.
[DECIDE: what happens when an account is deleted — whether proposal records are removed entirely or kept without the student’s identifying details, and for how long]
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it and your account. You can edit most of it yourself at any time from your profile, and changes take effect immediately. You can hide yourself from any company, or from every company, whenever you like.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
If you are under 18
Indian law treats anyone under 18 as a child, and processing a child’s personal data requires the verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. Many first-year college students are 17.
[DECIDE, WITH A LAWYER: either require users to confirm they are 18 or over and turn away anyone younger, or build a verifiable guardian-consent step. Nothing in the product does either today. This is the most significant open question in this policy — see REVIEW-NOTES.md.]
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the product before the change takes effect, not only by editing this page.
